Top Tip of the Month!

Obsidian Receptionist Frankie gives us her top tip:

"Keeping yourself happy is the most helpful thing you can do and there is no doubt that having positive thoughts throughout can lead to great day. Letting yourself be gloomy leads you to being negative and can effect how people respond to you both in person and on the phone.  Being negative will show in your voice and your body language and the customers you meet will pick up on this, so my tip for this month is think positive, you won't regret it!"

This Months Spotlight...

At the recent exclusive launch party of www.victoriashone.com Laura Blundell managed to grab a quick chat with Business Centre Manager and Obsidian's resident Artist, Victoria Shone.

So Victoria how long have you been producing art?
Art has always been an important part in my life; I have strong childhood memories of occupying myself for hours creating and making various art pieces.  Since graduating from University and starting work at Obsidian Offices, I have spent the last ten years managing Obsidian Offices by day and painting by night!

What does being an artist mean to you?
Art is about freedom and creative expression and for me what defines me as an artist is first and foremost the creation and expression of what is in me.  Art affords me an outlet and is how I make sense of the world, I know this is an opposite extreme of the "art for riches" approach that society is comfortable with, but I believe my approach grants me the most creative freedom; and as an artist, this creative freedom is my hearts desire.

So tell us about the launch of your website.
I am so excited to have my work displayed on my website at last!  It has taken a huge amount of time to get to this point and I am really excited the moment has arrived.
Amongst other work the Obsidian range of commissioned pictures are included in the gallery, so please take a look.
